  1. It seems like a play on the concept that kidnappers come from the past to send talented modern Black people back to slave plantations and the Black people have to escape and find their way back into the present.

  2. So check it. As a black person, we've always really talked about this. Not like it's a secret or anything. But I think the story is just that, imagine being black and successful and everything that today would bring. All the side eyes and judgemental looks. Now imagine if you just woke up a slave one day. Like you go to work, deal with your day, slight racism, somthing weird happens and you're back on 1820 Georgia. Heavy. Very heavy.
