  1. I don’t know why but I was really looking forward to watching this movie. Maybe because I’m a sucker for a good teen romance movie or I look forward to watching the newest release that comes out at the end of the week. Chemical Hearts didn’t work for me though and instead was frustratingly dull. I regret waiting until 12 Am just to be able to watch it finally. Cause this movie doesn’t have a lot to offer other then a filter that has a nice aesthetic with some pleasing shots that come up once in a while, performances from the main two leads that really help this movie and a soundtrack that suits the the tone this movie is going for. Chemical hearts is a rather unfulfilling time and there’s not much to it. It has good themes and concepts but the execution of these concepts and themes never actually work. I couldn’t really care for any of the characters and oppositely felt like they were under developed overall. The movie tries to be so emotional, hard hitting and mellow but it doesn’t succeed at any. A lot of the story parts are predictable and if you have ever seen any modern teen romance flick this movie takes a lot of the same traditional routes and makes similar choices. Also it felt as though like the movie made decisions within the overall story just to be trendy. The choices and directions the story takes doesn’t have a lot of depth to it other then to appeal to a broader audience. I felt like that was lazy and wish they could of built better characters with a more engaging story leading viewers to care more. Overall Chemical Hearts was bland, it’s approach to this story was kind of predictable and I felt the outcome of it all was disappointing.

  2. Of course the girl has blonde hair, likes to spend time alone, and has a really sad and traumatizing past. These stories just keep replaying over and over again, when will we get something new?

  3. I feel like this is not going to meet the expectations of how good the book actually was. I feel like a lot of movies that come from books don't really live up to the actual book itself, which is honestly very disappointing.

  4. Out of the whole Riverdale cast Lili is definitely the most likely to break away from her character and be crazy successful in the future with serious roles. Not saying the others aren't talented to a point, but she unquestionably carries the show and makes the trash writing a little more bearable. While this could be another cliche teen drama/romance, at least she's a lead and will actually have a decent script to work with.

  5. Ahh… this kind of movie really sucks. Why can’t they do a movie, same cast. But lili moves in next door, the guy is instantly attracted. But lili has a secret, she murders people at night. Secretly. For no reason whatsoever, it’s just a compulsion. She’s got the whole thing set up and thought out years in advance, even drives a car that is so abundant that no one would think twice looking at it, with mud smeared across the license plate. Then the guy and lili gets closer, he finds out her secret, she is sad and he wants to fix her. But there’s no fixing her. In the end, she dies in some ambiguous way and the guy goes on with his life. See? Something more interesting than… oh the girl has a broken leg. Come on Hollywood! Give me a new fking premise once in a while
