  1. I cannot believe our own people are wilfully participating in the mass gaslighting of our own peoples history and heritage. True, Dev is a good actor, but that does not mean he has any place in playing this character.

  2. I really enjoyed watching this movie on the big screen. It's based on Charles Dickens' semi-autobiographical story, not the modern-day magician by the same name. The Personal History of David Copperfield was well portrayed by Dev Patel. Go see it!

  3. In the original novel David ran away to his aunt when he was just a child. I do not understand why they have to change this in this adaptation. I've read that David's first wife Dora does not die either, contrary to the novel. So David will not marry Agnes in the end? To me it seems this movie is a deconstruction of DC rather than an adaptation. Wonder if this will be done with other classic novels.

  4. Where in the book does it say that he is Asian? If it was set in modern Britain, it might make sense, but in 19th century Britain? C'mon. Get real. Isn't this cultural appropriation? Halle Berry had to apologise for a trans role she played. " As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories. I am grateful for the guidance and critical conversation over the past few days and I will continue to listen, educate and learn from this mistake," she said. Shouldn't Dev Patel make a similar apology?

  5. Kisses to Dev Patel.🤟🏽 Hoping they put it on the internet or it gets circulated in the States when the cinemas open again. They aren't open yet. I need to see Dev in screen.
I want it to be on Netflix, Prime or Google Play SOON! Too much waitin' about these days…

  6. I think Dev Patel could play any role he was asked to play. He'd be remembered even if he played a character with no lines at all. His facial expressions and body movements could carry him. He's so versatile and having those opportunities and seizing them is something I really admire in an actor/actress.

  7. I have a crush on Dev and think that he's such a cute guy. But me and Dev have never even met in person. But what is he gonna think about me if I ever met him in person? Is he also gonna have a crush on me or is he gonna think that I'm a freaking weirdo? Your answers, please.
