  1. Just saw it, the interactions between main characters is cliche, a man and woman with past marriage troubles coming together for each other and their child in the face of a disaster. But compared to other disaster movies this is phenomenal. The way it depicts how people would react in disasters is entirely believable for the most part, I say the most part since you can see people like news anchors and fire fighters going on with their day job when they have no more than two days to live before a massive nine mile wide comet fragment smashes into the Atlantic west of Europe. While the CGI at times is hit or miss, the believably of the impacts in how they would work in reality is very good. You get the impact, and it realistically shows the shockwave initially traveling through solids causing the ground and structures to shake, and then the same shockwave traveling through air that arrives much later since it takes more time for particles to interact with each other in air than through solid ground. Of course, it isn't perfect, the ending has issues with realism and believability but overall it's a good movie, and a great disaster film.

  2. This movie is crap. 3/4 of it was a human interest story of what it looks like when a bunch of people are in a panic. The protagonist and family are selected to be housed in an underground bunker. After the first impact by a smaller piece of the asteroid, the next 1 hour and 15 minuets of footage is about how they get from point "A" to point "B" with several emotional experiences between family members and the public. Just watch the trailer and you've seen everything worth watching.
