After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”.

Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

  1. There is the way jets are meant to be flown, and the way Maverick fly's jets. This is what was lost with UAVs. The Dream had required an interactive participation with real flight equipment had made this his role truly awesome.

  2. So it looks like it will be a good movie. I haven't seen much about anyone talking about the plot. From what I have seen in the trailers and the pictures that were posted online from the movie being filmed, like the pics showing Maverick and Rooster walking in the snow in flight suits. I figure that at some point Maverick and Goose's son, "Rooster", will get shot down behind enemy lines or in a unfriendly country that still flies the F-14 Tomcat. They will somehow steal a Tomcat from that country and fly home. Has anyone figured that out?

  3. If I see that F-14 at the end of the film I may cry, that was my favorite jet as a kid, it’s technology was so cool at the time when it was put into service and as the modern tech caught up with it it was such a versatile plane. It’s just ironic coming from an Air Force family I love the Tomcat more than the Falcon.

  4. Lmao I watched this movie be filmed! It’s absolutely insane how many stunts they did and they are all 100% real! None of the stuff filmed except the space thing is CGI! I saw the part in the dessert because I know the director and it was truly a life changing experience to meet Tom Cruise!
